Since its birth, the New Life Fellowship Center
has grown rapidly, with ministries extending into the streets where Pastor Kee
once hustled. These ministries include: after-school tutoring; food for the
hungry; Adopt-A-Family; mentoring, One-Step, and health and wellness. "There is
so much hurting and suffering in the world," says Pastor Kee, "that the only
way not to be overwhelmed by it, is to know that you are doing something about
it." It is In line with this attitude of acting and doing that New Life
Fellowship Center has committed to winning the city, state, nation, and world
for the Kingdom of God. In short, we already are doing what others are talking
about doing. |

For example, cognizant that the public school
system has difficulties with preparing our youth to be productive citizens and
holy examples of Godly living in society, the New Life Christian Academy was
founded in September 2002. In our school children are challenged to maximize
spiritually, academically, physically, and intellectually. Our school uses a
rigorous academic curriculum with a biblical emphasis to provide students with
solid bible-based academic preparation. Additionally our students are
encouraged to develop their own relationship with God so that they stand
fortified and ready to walk victoriously through any situation they may face in
life. Coupled with this, our students take courses in languages, music, the
arts, and dance. This preparation allows the students to develop their
interests, gain exposure to subjects outside of their initial interests, and
follow the life path that God has predestined for them. |

After becoming exposed to the game of chess
through the church’s Men’s Fellowship, Pastor Kee became an avid student of the
game. His skills grew exponentially over the following months, and he soon was
able to defeat the church’s best players. Seeing the parallels between the
strategies of chess and life, the church implemented a chess club to introduce
those with limited experience to the game while developing skills of those with
experience. This provides an opportunity for Christian fellowship while
providing skills in strategic planning and critical thinking. |

The church’s latest venture came with the birth of Rufus P.
Robinson, or affectionately Li’l Rufus. Li’l Rufus was invoked from Pastor
Kee’s desire to reach the children of the world, giving them a clear
foundational understanding of who they are in God. Li’l Rufus’ adventures start
in a series of illustrated children’s books entitled the Fruit Series, in
reference to the fruits of the spirit. A few titles of these books include
"Finding Hope," "Finding Patience" and "Rufus Finds His Father." The medium
provides another avenue of ministry to reach one of the most spiritually
neglected populations, the children. In line with this, Li’l Rufus’ adventures
will be translated into different languages to take Rufus’ messages of hope and
encourage to the nations. In conjunction with the book series, Li’l Rufus also
will release a music project with song of praise and hope for the next
generation. |

Many exciting things are happening on the anointed ground of
New Life Fellowship Center. We are planning the construction of the Life
Center, our new temple. As a part of the project, the church recently has
petitioned the city of Charlotte to abandon the street in front of our church.
This would provide a substantial increase in our construction space and allow
the church to construct the new edifice directly in front of the current
facility. This is a tremendous step in allowing the church literally to take
over the community. |
